Description

A waiter or waitress in a hotel is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests in the hotel’s restaurant, lounge, or banquet areas. The job involves taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
Present menus to guests and answer any questions about menu items.
Take guests’ food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
Communicate guests’ orders to the kitchen and ensure that they are prepared according to the guests’ specifications.
Serve food and drinks to guests and ensure that they have everything they need throughout their meal.
Process payments and handle cash and credit card transactions.
Clear tables and clean up after guests.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of banquet events.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and other hotel staff to ensure smooth operations.
Uphold hotel policies and procedures and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:

Prior experience as a waiter or waitress preferred.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide excellent service to guests.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and credit card transactions.
Knowledge of food and beverage service and etiquette.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach.
Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in a hotel restaurant, lounge, or banquet area.
May work in a noisy and fast-paced environment.
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
May be required to work overtime.
