As a security guard, you’re responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the premises you’re assigned to protect. Your role involves a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including:

Monitoring: Keeping a watchful eye on the premises through surveillance cameras, patrols, or other means to detect any suspicious activity or security breaches.
Controlling Access: Regulating entry and exit points, checking identification, and ensuring that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.

Patrolling: Conducting regular patrols of the premises, both inside and outside, to deter potential threats and identify any security risks or vulnerabilities.

Responding to Emergencies: Taking prompt action in the event of emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or security breaches, and following established protocols to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of occupants.

Enforcing Rules and Regulations: Upholding security policies, procedures, and regulations established by the organization or property management, including enforcing no-trespassing policies and addressing violations appropriately.
Providing Customer Service: Assisting visitors, employees, or customers with inquiries, directions, or other assistance as needed, while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.

Reporting Incidents: Documenting any incidents, disturbances, or security breaches that occur during your shift, and reporting them to appropriate authorities or supervisors as required.

Maintaining Equipment: Ensuring that security equipment such as cameras, alarms, and communication devices are in good working condition, and promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues.

Collaborating with Law Enforcement: Coordinating with local law enforcement agencies as needed, providing assistance during investigations, and cooperating with authorities to address security concerns effectively.
Training and Development: Participating in training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as emergency response, conflict resolution, and security procedures.

Maintaining Professionalism: Representing the organization or property in a professional manner, exhibiting integrity, and adhering to ethical standards while performing your duties.
