Assistant Laboratory Technician

Description

A well-established organization is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations. The successful candidate will assist with sample handling, basic laboratory procedures, documentation, and the maintenance of a clean and safe laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist laboratory technicians with routine laboratory procedures and testing.
Collect, receive, label, prepare, and organize samples in accordance with established procedures.
Prepare laboratory materials, equipment, and work areas for testing.
Handle and store samples properly to maintain accuracy and integrity.
Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and documentation.
Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas.
Follow laboratory safety, hygiene, and infection-control procedures.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
Monitor laboratory supplies and inform the supervisor when replenishment is required.
Support the laboratory team with daily operational activities.
Perform other laboratory-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

Diploma or relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
Previous laboratory or healthcare experience is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety practices.
Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work responsibly in a laboratory environment.
Freshers with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
